Hey everyone! Just a small update, I wanted to celebrate that we’re currently at 1,022 listens across all podcast platforms! I want to give a hearty thank you to everyone who’s listened even once, and a second thank you to the people who have stuck around and become regular listeners. Yay! Of course I have been hopeful we’d get this big eventually, but If you had asked me before we started I’d have been cautiously hoping for 100 listens by the end of season one, since we were really starting from nothing.

TikTok has helped get the word out a ton! Less luck so far with Instagram and BlueSky, but if you’re not following us there maybe give it a run! The TikTok has reached 30k views, 237 followers, 296 shares, 81 comments, and 1,116 profile views! Cool. I assume it has brought in a lot of new people based on the analytics I’m getting from our hosting platform!

We also have a feed on YouTube on my personal channel where I also post stuff from my other show, Game Busters! I’d love to have more people checking that one out as well, where me, Jess, and Felicia are reacting to and reviewing every video game movie ever made (yes, really). YouTube analytics are finnicky, we have 388 views on the podcast there but a huge number of course click off in the first minute. Rough, rough estimate is that we’ve had about 30 real listens on there in addition.

My favorite metric to see, even more than the 1k listens, is that we have an audience size of 75 people. Audience size is basically how many unique listeners, for the last 3 episodes in a row, listened to the newest episode within 7 days of release. Basically, who is listening along with the show. The fact that 75 people are actually excited to download and listen to something that I’ve made is heartwarming and awesome 🙂 .

As we move into Season 2 with A Court of Mist and Fury (starting March 14), I’m also trying to line up some bonus content here and there for off-weeks. I’d really like to get into our YApocalypse series exploring other YA novels and their cultural impact, but the scheduling has been difficult. I’ve got 5 people that all want to be on the Twilight one and it is really rough, but we’ll figure it out. In addition, a group of us including myself, Joe, and Rachel are recording an actual play podcast series using the Lord of the Rings Roleplaying system that is a spin-off of Dungeons and Dragons 5e; that will appear sporadically as bonus episodes in the feed. Also with Season 2 we have a legit real theme song coming! No spoilers tho.
